How To Use Canva To Create a Video Intro

An effective video introduction may boost your brand awareness and assist viewers to be ready for the information you'll be sharing.

You could believe that making an intro requires understanding complex software, but did you know that you can make YouTube intros with Canva? Let's watch this post and I'll show you how to do it?

Getting Going

If you don't already have an account, start by going to Canva and creating one.

Write "YouTube Intro" in the search box at the top.

You now have a page full of templates; simply browse through them and choose the one that best captures your brand. Fear not—we can modify the text, font, and background films.

Edit Your Resources

We may now begin editing. Let's start by altering the background layer's color because it will be useful later. To see the backdrop, move any obstructions out of the way. Within the panel on the left, select Background.

Use your brand's color by entering your HEX code after clicking the "New Color" button on the color panel on the top bar.

Let's now modify the main element's colors by clicking on it to pick it and then clicking the color box in the upper left corner. The document colors contain our branded color because we have previously input our HEX code.

The colors on the side are no longer functional as a result of changing the color of the main element.

Once more, if we paste the HEX code for our brand's color, it will provide us with a few possibilities for complementary colors. To get the right color for your introduction, try a few different hues.

Another choice would be to remove these components and add your own. I will swap them out with other symbols.

Search for the aspects that best represent your brand by selecting items from the left-hand side. I'll start looking for a symbols

Simply click and drag the pieces into your introduction to add them. The elements may be rotated by clicking and dragging on the rotate button below the center line, resized by clicking and dragging in the corners, and position by clicking and dragging in the middle.

By clicking the color block in the upper left and then using the same actions as previously, you can also alter the color.

Consider using a logo in your introduction. Click "upload an image or video" after selecting "uploads." The file you wish to utilize on your computer should be selected.

As I previously showed, click and drag the picture onto the design to resize and place it as desired.

Making Text Changes

Let's go to the major text. First, let's alter the typeface. The font name will show in the top bar when you click on the text. Canva doesn't support the Proxima Nova font I use for branding, but I know from a simple Google search that Montserrat is quite close. The size and location may also vary when the font is changed.

Click on the letter "A" with the colors listed underneath it if you now wish to alter the color. I'm going to choose white to make things straightforward.

Change the text itself now. You may either build a single intro that will be used for all of your movies, or you can utilize your template to create a new visual that will contain the names of each film.

For a more broad introduction, use the text box to describe what your channel offers in general, or, for a more video-specific introduction, just discuss the topic of the video.

To modify the text area's dimensions and placement, click and drag the box.

Adding Media

Let's add our own footage now that we are in the final stages. To erase an existing clip, click on it and press the delete key on your keyboard. Return to uploads and add the computer-based video there. Your video may be found on the videos tab. Depending on how large your movie is, the upload process can take some time.

Drag your clip onto the canvas using the mouse. You may silence the audio in your clip using the top bar.

Your clip should be resized and placed roughly in the proper location. Then, click Position and pick Backward to move your clip so that it is in front of your color layer.

Music is a terrific approach to enhance your introduction a little bit. then more clicking, then music. Many of the songs are only accessible to Pro members, but you may skim through the list or use the search box to locate something that fits your brand.

Drag the audio onto your canvas with your mouse. Now, a bar at the top will allow you to select the section of the music you wish to use. Sadly, there is currently no method to fade your sounds, but maybe this is a feature they will add in the future.

Inserting Animation

Let's add some animation now. To do this, click somewhere other than your canvas and choose Animate from the top bar.

There are currently some animations available, some of which are in the free version. To choose the animation you wish to use in each of your elements, click after hovering over it to see a preview.

Simply edit the text, the video, and any other aspects you choose to create a second copy of your page if you want to add more pages with more content.

By selecting the play icon up top, you can get a preview of your introduction. Once done, simply click MP4 in the download menu.
